A digital drawing I did to capture the feeling of fighting ones own emotional state. The shield and armour are symbolic of the things we turn to for strength and security in times of trouble or turmoil. I often draw great comfort and confidence from my heritage, and the love and support of my family, which inspired me to use my family crest on the shield of the knight.

Movement in 'brushstrokes' inspired by Van Gogh, whom I am mildly obsessed with. I love that the teqhnique is so expressive that the vibrancy comes across even without colour.
